Ringside's is a nationally famous classic traditional steakhouse that specializes on serving top-grade, corn-fed, aged steaks and prime rib. Owned by the same family since it's opening in 1944 it has been a major player in Portland's fine dining scene. This top notch steakhouse is set in an elegant cavernous space warmed by a large crackling fireplace. The cozy atmosphere makes it easy to linger over dinner and has become the Steakhouse of Choice for Portlanders and has earned a reputation as one of the best late night dinings in portland.

Great steaks and red meat cry out for great wine, which led this family owned restaurant to do a serious job of assembling an impressive wine list. The wine list is like stepping into heaven.  The restaurant doesn't skimp when it comes to variety or country of origin. Included in their extensive list of more than 600 selections of red, white, imported and domestic is a good selection of Northwest wine.  They also have a full bar stocked with ports, dessert wines and aged single malt scothes.

You should begin your meal with one of their appetizers, soup or House Cesar Salad.  Ringside's baked onion soup is well worth trying, and of course their onion rings are famous in Portland.  Make sure you pair your steak with a fresh vegetable.  Ringside's vegetable menu includes: baked sweet corn casserole, creamed spinach with water chestnuts, steamed broccoli and steamed asparagus. Also available is their delicious forest mushrooms, sautéed with butter, garlic and white wine.

The menu delivers up the classics, like New York Steak, Filet Mignon, Top Sirloin as well as their House Specialties; the famous slow roasted Prime Rib, Bone-In Filet Mignon, Bone-In New York, Porterhouse Steak and Bone-In Rib Steak.  The emphasis at Ringside is the red meat, but there are other tempting choices.  If you're hungry for seafood you can choose from a number of options such as the Alaskan Halibut served with a Lemon-Dill Mornay Sauce, Line-Caught Wild Salmon served with a Pear Brandy Glaze.  There's also Australian Rock Lobster Tail, Gulf Prawns and much more.  Options other than red meat and seafood are also available, - delicious Pork Loin Chop served with a Raspberry Chipotle Sauce, Roasted Rack of Lamb and Fried chicken.

Ringside has a terrific happy hour special.  Get a deal on the happy hour sampler menu with their $2.25 small plates.  Enjoy Fried Oysters, Jalapeño Rémoulade, Oyster Shooters, Caesar Salad, Steak Bites, Fish Bites and Prime Rib dip.  It's the best happy hour in Portland, it's served nightly from: 9:45 PM to close and Sunday from: 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

After a heavy meal, sweets seem mandatory and Ringside has a spectacular dessert menu. There is something for every taste. Try their Vanilla Crème Brûlée or the smooth and creamy Cheesecake.  For chocolate lovers there's the chocolate silk pie, it's a rich chocolate mousse with an almond crust and chocolate ganache.

Ringside has received many awards over the years and has been recognized by major wine, dining and steakhouse organizations.  The most appreciated are Tom Horan's America's Top Ten Steakhouses since 1998; Prime Time Top 10 Steakhouses since 1999, Sante Magazine's Certificate of Achievement 2006 and DiRoNa - The Award of Excellence From Distinguished Restaurants of North America 2004-2008 - to name just a few.
