Great steaks and red meat cry out for great wine, which led this family owned restaurant to do a serious job of assembling an impressive wine list. The wine list is like stepping into heaven. The restaurant doesn't skimp when it comes to variety or country of origin. Included in their extensive list of more than 600 selections of red, white, imported and domestic is a good selection of Northwest wine. They also have a full bar stocked with ports, dessert wines and aged single malt scothes.
You should begin your meal with one of their appetizers, soup or House Cesar Salad. Ringside's baked onion soup is well worth trying, and of course their onion rings are famous in Portland. Make sure you pair your steak with a fresh vegetable. Ringside's vegetable menu includes: baked sweet corn casserole, creamed spinach with water chestnuts, steamed broccoli and steamed asparagus. Also available is their delicious forest mushrooms, sautéed with butter, garlic and white wine.
The menu delivers up the classics, like New York Steak, Filet Mignon, Top Sirloin as well as their House Specialties; the famous slow roasted Prime Rib, Bone-In Filet Mignon, Bone-In New York, Porterhouse Steak and Bone-In Rib Steak. The emphasis at Ringside is the red meat, but there are other tempting choices. If you're hungry for seafood you can choose from a number of options such as the Alaskan Halibut served with a Lemon-Dill Mornay Sauce, Line-Caught Wild Salmon served with a Pear Brandy Glaze. There's also Australian Rock Lobster Tail, Gulf Prawns and much more.
