The Pittock Mansion, Portland’s historic, early-1900s-era house museum, will be open to the public, free of charge, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14. The purpose of the admission-free, evening open house is to welcome people who are not able to visit the mansion during regular daytime hours Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the history of the mansion, the Pittock family and its role in Portland history.
