Using Warning Lights

LED stands for light-emitting diode. You probably see them every day in things like traffic lights and car indicators. They are designed to be used in excessive quantities over a long period of time. One of the reasons they last so well is because if one of the diodes dies, the rest will continue to work and provide light. Because they last so much longer they dont require as much maintenance as traditional incandescent lamps. This means the ROI is much greater making them a practical investment for businesses.

However, rigid rules are in place for both LED beacons and  obstruction lights. The organisations responsible for the application of those rules are FAA and ICAO. Any structure that exceeds 45 meters must be lit up and easily identifiable. Anything that could pose a danger to low flying aircraft like towers and buildings, chimney and cranes and even masts needs an LED beacon. That is another argument why LED lights are the best electrical components for this job. Because of their high quality design and make they are very resistant to external negative factors such as wind, rain, heat and snow. Warning lights can be rotated completely in 360 degrees.

LED lights cannot be seen just in construction and industrial sites as many people think. In recent years we’ve started seeing LED lights become more common in the home too. Because LED lights do not have their lifespan shortened by repetitively being turned on and off they are very energy efficient. In the past, LED lights used to be available in just red color but today things have changed and they are available in many colors. Initial cost of LED lights is a big disadvantage. Although the price can see daunting you have to remember the
